From Grandmas Gardens to Lunch!  A New Kind of Snack with a Powerful Story

From Grandmas’ Gardens (FGG) will make its trade show debut at Lunch! 2025, bringing a bold mission and beautifully simple product to Stand SU10 in the Start-Up Zone.

FGG partners directly with rural communities in Uganda to grow, dry, and pack premium mango and pineapple snacks — 100% natural, with no added sugar, preservatives or additives. But more than a snack, every pouch helps grandmothers grow their way out of poverty.

“This brand is built around empowerment,” says FGG founder Ray Botterell.

“We’re not just sourcing fruit — we’re investing in land, tools, and training so that grandmothers can become economically self-sufficient, support their families, and strengthen their communities.”

Each purchase directly funds smallholder farming efforts, with profits reinvested into the growers’ own development, creating a regenerative cycle of trade, not aid.

FGG will be showcasing its new 35g and 100g pouches, designed for health-conscious consumers and ethical retailers looking for truly mission-aligned products. Vegan, gluten-free, and high in fibre, they’re ideal for foodservice, gifting, and independent retail.

The fruit is harvested at peak ripeness and gently-dried within hours, locking in flavour, nutrients, and sunshine. Visitors are invited to taste both mango and pineapple samples at the stand, meet the team, and discover how they can stock a product that offers both quality and purpose.

FGG is currently stocked by a small number of UK retailers — including a farm shops and food hallsl, and is actively seeking to expand through partnerships with independent retailers, wholesalers, buying groups, foodservice providers, and in time, distributors and national multiples who align with their values.

This is more than just a healthy snack. It’s a movement rooted in dignity, sustainability, and human connection.

“It’s a full circle moment for me,” adds Simon Barry, FGG’s brand consultant and project lead.
“I helped launch Lunch! over a decade ago with the team at Diversified, and now I’m back, not running the show, but launching a brand I truly believe in.”
