Shell Scheme Information
Please click here to download SHELL SCHEME BROCHURE.
The Standard Shell Scheme is built in the ‘Complete’ system and constructed by GES. Click here for a visual. Please note this represents a typical shell scheme stand.
Basic stands will consist of white foamex walls, fascia, corner and mid-support posts, ceiling grid, and nameboard. The stand is constructed throughout in an aluminium system incorporating lightweight white panels 3mm thick.
Infill wall panels are 3mm thick foamex. A name board with your company name and stand number applied directly to it. Fascia supports are provided at intervals not exceeding 3m apart. Large stands may require additional interior posts to support the grid.
Island shell scheme stands will not contain any walling and will be open on all four sides.
Part island shell scheme stands will have one back wall, where shell is on either side.
End of run stands or corner sites will have two walls and two open sides.
When ordering additional walling / storage areas from the official contractor, you need to consider your neighbours and ensure that your stand does not incorporate long runs of perimeter walling as this would have a detrimental effect on the show and surrounding stands. Walling that exceeds 30% of the open side onto a gangway will not be permitted by the organisers.
If you wish to have the fascia and nameboard removed please notify the organisers at [email protected] 4 weeks before the show. If you are building within your shell scheme stand you may also have to comply with the Space Only build restrictions if you are appointing a stand builder. Please refer to the Space Only regulations within this manual. For more information please contact [email protected].
The stand contract does not include provision by the organisers of any of the following services:
- Special connections for water, waste, gas or other utilities;
- Interior fittings and displays;
- Additional sign-writing;
- Labour for off-loading;
- Provision of night sheets;

SHELL STAND EXTRAS
The official contractors offer a wide range of additional extras for shell scheme stands. Exhibitors are free to choose extras to enhance their stand if required. Full details and prices can be found in prepare your stand section within the exhibitor manual.
SHELL CARPET / FLOORING
The floor covering throughout all shell scheme stand areas and gangways will be cord carpet. All shell scheme stands will have carpet provided, please see the stand visual for the colour or contact the organisers for more information. The exhibitor will be responsible for any damage to the floor coverings, in or around the stand. Any damage caused to the carpet by an exhibitor or their contractor will be replaced, and the cost of replacement charged to the Exhibitor. ExCeL produce a dilapidations report post show and any damage caused will be invoiced to the exhibitor/contractor accordingly.
STAND CLEANING
Stands will be vacuumed prior to opening each morning FREE OF CHARGE. We recommend having a stock of refuse bags on your stand for waste. All sacks of waste should be left in the gangways after the show closes. Sacks left on stands will NOT be removed. All cardboard boxes should be flat packed for removal. PLEASE NOTE – the organisers do not supply bins or wastes sacks for your stand – you will need to ensure you have the appropriate provision for the activity taking place on your stand.
The organisers would be grateful if stand holders would contact us, prior to the show, if they anticipate producing large amounts of rubbish i.e. cardboard boxes etc either before or during show open. This will help us open the show on time, as well as keep the show tidy during busy periods. Any waste left after breakdown that is deemed in excessive quantities will be recharged to the exhibitor for recycling/removal costs. It is important where possible to re-use and recycle any waste you may produce on your stand during the show.
